Hosting solar on your school or site

We are always on the lookout for new sites to work with. We mainly work with schools but we have experience with community, other public sector and private buildings too - have a look at our list of sites and get in touch if you're not sure whether you would be eligible.

The schools and sites we work with have the solar panels installed at no cost to them. Money is raised through community shares, often from residents close to the sites who are interested in supporting their community while tackling climate change. The co-op is responsible for managing and maintaining the solar panels, making it very low-risk for the school/site.

The school/site pays the co-op a fixed rate to use the clean electricity produced, lower than market rate. In this way, our schools save thousands of pounds each year on their bills.

Our co-op is run for the community, including the schools we work with. The profits we make are distributed as dividends to the schools, in addition to the money they are saving on bills.
